Do you like museums? I know I do. I used to love to smell the clean air and know I was walking around a well maintained structure. There was plenty to look at, and each artifact held its own place in my heart. Every exhibit at the Bahrain National Museum held a special place for me. There is a museum in Bahrain, and it’s one of the biggest and oldest in the area. Just like in my childhood days, there is plenty to look at and take in here.
Bahrain is full of Tourist Attractions, Bahrain is full of rich culture and history, more than many other places around the world. The history of Bahrain, at least the parts that could be put into exhibits, spans about 6000 years. Thats a long time! Imagine, seeing pieces of history that have been existence for thousands of years, untouched by modern civilization and captured for your viewing. That’s what we are offering.
It took 30 million dollars to get the structure built and get all the exhibits ready, but since 1988 this museum has been offering some of the most treasured memories in all the world. Capture the splendor of being able to see things like actual ancient burial mounds, epic scenes from Bahrains past that contain actual physical artifacts, ancient manuscripts mentioned in the Quran, ancient astronomy texts and documentation, historical documents, and more! You can also view all of the areas current local flora and fauna. This will appeal to all natural history buffs as well.
Bahrain is covered through the Stone Age, ancient civilizations, and up to the pre-oil period. These were the times when life was different for the Middle East. Life didn’t revolve around oil reserves and the desert was known for being a much different place. It had different things to offer during these periods and there was a different mode of existence entirely. These days, the oil trade controls nearly every form of commerce available. If it has to do with money, the large oil reserves have something to do with it through a roundabout means and fashion.
Four cubic gallery blocks make up the spaces where the exhibits are displayed. Each one is absolutely huge. You could easily spend an entire day in the Bahrain National Museum just asking questions and taking in the rich historical information.
Many famous people of the Middle East have given presided at this Museum, bringing people together in the effort to preserve the rich history of the land. There is much to learn about the desert way of life, what things were like through the different time periods, and ways we can improve our own lives through the past histories of others. If you look closely enough into the exhibits and how difficult life was during these times, you may be able to find a way to improve your own. Learning about history is great for strategizing and problem solving skills. It really is a lot of fun to try and think like they did in ancient times. The Bahrain National Museum is a real work out for the mind, spirit, and soul.
